League Update

Hello Colonial LL families,

We hope this email finds you all well and safe.

It has been a couple weeks since we reached out to to you and we wanted to give you a couple updates.

With the information available to us and the guidance we have received from Little League International, all Colonial Little League(in person) activities are still suspended until May 11th. We remain hopeful that we can resume League activities at that time.

A couple weeks ago, the Little League International President, Steve Keener, sent out a video message and he gave the analogy of what our organizations are going through as a “rain delay” which really helped explain where we are at with our season. Just like a rain delay, our teams are set, we are ready to go but we just need a break in the weather and for the fields to dry so we could go play.

Your Colonial LL Board of directors held its monthly meeting this past Thursday via videoconference. We discussed a couple of contingency plans but the only date we could firmly work with at this time is May 11th. The rest is speculation until we get additional information/guidance from our State, local governments and Little League international.

We do know that Little League International, our Regional Headquarters and our District are currently working on quite a few different scenarios. They also remain hopeful that we can put something together for the 2020 season.

The CLL Board of Directors will meet again via videoconference on April 22nd to discuss our 2020 season and we will continue to update you periodically.

Spirit Wear Store-

Our online Spirit Wear store opened in early March prior to COVID 19 impacting our season. It will remain open until Monday April 13th for anyone who would like to order something.

If you plan on coaching with us when we play again, and we will play again, this is where you can order your coaches polos and coaches hats. The coachs' apparel will remain the same navy color for each season and the style will only change if the supplier runs out of that particular style.

Do your own pre-season practice in your yard-

Our Player Agent, Dave Donlon recommends that you try to get out and take advantage of this early Spring weather to practice with your own player(s).

He will be sending out emails periodically with some practice drills you can try with your kids.

You can also check out this Backyard Tips page from the Little League website.

That is all for now, Happy Easter and we hope the best for you and your families during this unprecedented time,

Dan Stroessenreuther
